I love werewolf novels, so I was thrilled to come across the great paranormal thriller The Pack by Jason Starr, which features a very unique and imaginative take on the whole werewolf mythology. I found myself easily relating to the story's hero Simon Burns and the frustration he feels with his life and how he is searching for something to grasp on to. The interaction between the characters, particularly between members of the Pack, was great. Starr shows a tremendous knack for writing some of the grittiest and real sounding dialog, even when the circumstances stretch the imagination. The worst part: the book left me wanting more! Good thing there is a sequel planned for The Pack, because this is a world I want to revisit.
