Roma Khanna Named President of MGM's Television Group and Digital

Roma Khanna has been named president of MGM?s Television Group and Digital and will oversee all television sales, production, acquisitions, licensing, content creation and digital initiatives for MGM worldwide while also overseeing franchises and partnerships.

She will report to MGM co-chairmen and CEOs Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, who announced her appointment Tuesday.

Khanna previously worked at NBCUniversal as president of Universal Networks International & Digital Initiatives, overseeing more than 70 international television channels, including Syfy Universal, 13th Street Universal, Diva Universal, Universal Channel, Studio Universal, the Hallmark Channel and Movies24. In addition, she oversaw the Digital Initiatives division of NBC Universal International.

Before joining NBCU, she was senior vp, content and co-head of CHUM Television in Canada, where she co-ran CHUM?s portfolio of free television networks CityTV and A-Channel and more than 20 cable channels. Earlier in her career, she served as executive vp and co-owner of Snap Media, an independent interactive producer, where she was involved in the production/creation of cross-media projects for television and film. ?She began her career at Sony Music Canada as manager of legal and business affairs.?
