TV tonight: Baseball, 'Partners,' 'Castle'

TV tonight: Baseball, 'Partners,' 'Castle'

National League Championship Series
Fox, 7:30 ET/PT

Much of Fox's schedule this week will be pre-empted by the network's coverage of the National League baseball playoffs, which tonight means you'll miss Bones and The Mob Doctor. Of course, when it comes to Mob Doctor, most of you were already missing it -- a wise decision which just might possibly derail Doctor's post-ball plans. Let's just say the show has as much chance of making it to May as the Pirates have of making it to the World Series.

Partners
CBS, 8:30 ET/PT

Louis has a key to Joe's apartment and Ali does not, leading her to order Joe to take Louis' back. Now granted, the episode was not made available for preview, so it's possible the outing is better than it sounds -- though so far, that has not been Partners' pattern. And this struggling series has worse problems than far-fetched plots, a paucity of funny lines and a complete lack of chemistry among the stars chief among them. Still, just reading that plotline does force you to ask, who acts like that ? and that's seldom a good question for a sitcom to raise.

Castle
ABC, 10 ET/PT

ABC's entertaining mystery romance offers a change-of-pace episode that sends Beckett and Castle off to the Hamptons for a weekend escape. Naturally, they run into a murder ? and naturally, they decide to solve it. It's a change of pace, not a change of series.
